Sean M. Porter

Sean was an associate partner in a small firm prior to joining the firm in 2003. Sean became a managing partner in 2007. Sean became the sole owner of Loveless Porter Architects in 2012. Sean is responsible for project management including space planning, design development, construction documents, code research, and construction administration. Sean has a strong understanding of the building codes and local jurisdictions. He has had to be creative when interpreting the codes as it applies to older buildings designed under “legacy” codes.

Rich is an accomplished NCARB Certified Registered Architect having over 20 years of experience in commercial and residential design and construction, who has demonstrated success transforming client ideas into beautiful and functional design solutions.
Rich’s completed project listing include new ground-up base building design, new and alterations to federal and local government facilities, restaurant design, aviation facilities, automotive dealerships, corporate tenant layout, sanctuary and worship, educational, retail and mercantile, and speculative building projects, and custom residential design solutions.

Kwame Nyarko
AAIA
Kwame has been with Loveless Porter Architects since October of 2019. Prior to that, he worked in the industry for several firms within the DMV since 2012 when he migrated to the United States from Ghana. On a daily basis, Kwame is responsible for a number design and research related tasks for various projects in the form of Code and Zoning analysis and programing needed to validate Schematic Designs for initial clients’ approval. He also works with Design developments and Construction / Permit Submission documents. Kwame enjoys the creative aspect of solving design challenges. This is evident in the numerous design concept sketches he develops at the beginning of every project.
Out of the office, he spends most of his time with his wife and kids. He also enjoys reading, movies, and free-hand sketching.

Kallyn Maddox
Intern
Kallyn started at LPA as a summer intern in 2019 and is currently an upperclassman at Virginia Tech. Kallyn brings a good understanding of design and proportion to projects for her level of education. She has been involved in many project types beginning with the schematic design of church buildings, convenience stores, and various smaller projects. Her support of our team on Revit and involvement in office management has been of great value.
Kallyn enjoys going on hikes, baking new things, reading a good book, and talking to anyone who will listen about all things Virginia Tech (go Hokies!).
The culture of LPA, in part, Values the importance of hiring and developing college interns in an effort to expand the architectural profession and, hopefully, hire them after graduation.
Tristan Hamerick
Tristan started at LPA as a summer intern in 2018 and has since joined us full-time after graduating from the University of Virginia with a BS in Architecture. Tristan brings an exceptional work ethic and a good understanding of building design. He is involved in many project types supporting the Project Manager with design and construction documents. He works on projects in both Revit and AutoCAD, is involved in office management, and works with our office manager on permitting projects.
In his off-time Tristan enjoys climbing and spending time with his friends and family.
