What is your job and how long have you been with Loveless Porter Architects, LLC?
My job at LPA is as and architectural designer and have been with LPA for the past 3 months
Briefly describe what a day in your work life looks like.
My typical day my work is broken up into mostly feasibility studies in form of building code and zoning analysis and programming. This leads ultimately to lots of architectural schematic designs for initial client approval, design developments, and putting together construction and permit submission documents and occasionally do site surveys to gather information to start a project.
What is the best part about working for Loveless Porter?
Loveless Porter Architects is great place to work primarily because of the people who make up the organization and most importantly the wealth of knowledge of the professionals as far as our industry is concerned. It’s a great place to learn the ins and outs of our industry, in terms of practical design and all the inherent analysis that leads to this.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
My free time is mostly spent with my 3 little kids (Gabrielle, Abigail and Daniel) and whenever we can, my wife Maxine and I squeeze in some hour or 2 or even 3 of video gaming contest. I also do a lot of reading and sketching in my spare time both for.
What led you to apply at Loveless Porter?
I used to do a very long commute to work at McLean from our home in Fredericksburg (we had lived there a year by then and the commute was already taking its toll) so I passively started looking for a new place to that would shorten my drive and the traffic and actually interview with a friend of Sean’s but at the time, they did not have the opening ready for me to join their team so told me to wait. A couple of months later Sean had met him and, in a conversation, express his need to hire another person for LPA and I was recommended.
