Not only did we get to see our work come to life with the opening of the new Habitat for Humanity ReStore location in Woodbridge, we got to hear about how this organization impacts vulnerable members of our community in ways beyond the home building service we are more familiar with.
In the clip below, Traci Degroat, president of the Prince William chapter, talks about a project underway to help mobile home park residents in Woodbridge who are facing fines and possible jail time due to outdoor structures that were rendered illegal when FEMA designated their neighborhood as a flood plain. Stories like this are why we believe so strongly in our Community Builder program, where we donate our expertise to organizations that are truly changing lives in Northern Virginia.
If you have not been to the new ReStore yet, visit soon! Every donation and purchase helps to fund projects that seek to build “a world where everyone has a decent place to live.”
