The Lake Jackson Volunteer Fire Department contracted with LPA to design and construct a multi-phased, 14,585 sf 1-story expansion to the existing 12,000 sf fire station. This more than doubled the occupancy space of the original building. Alterations included apparatus bays, alterations to residential spaces, and operations including gear room, wash-down room, physical training room, and suppoer areas. The addition included administrative and operations offices, a recreation room, conference room, community meeting room, storage area and full commercial kitchen. The second floor of the addition includes a training room, library, and storage. Because the fire department needed to be operational at all times, the phasing of the project was a crucial aspect. LPA assisted in making transitions as seamless as possible.
It was a pleasure to work with LPA on this project. My church is considering an expansion and I recommended LPA instinctively.
