“I am pleased to provide this Letter of Recommendation requested by Loveless Porter Architects (LPA) as required by your RFP for Architectural and Engineering Services. The Lake Jackson Volunteer Fire Department contracted with LPA to design and construct a multi phased 14,585 sf 1-story expansion to the existing 12,000 sf fire station that was completed in the summer of 2006.
The expansion more than doubled the occupancy space of the original building. Alterations included apparatus bays, alterations to residential spaces, operations including gear room, wash down room, physical training room and suppoer areas. Addition included administrative and operations offices, recreation room, conference room, community meeting room, storage and full commercial kitchen. Second floor of the addition includes training room, library and storage. Because the fire department needed to be operational at all times, the phasing of the project was a crucial aspect. LPA assisted in making transitions as seamless as possible.
It was a pleasure to work with LPA on this project. My church is considering an expansion and I recommended LPA instinctively.”
